Weather Policy

As T-ball and Rookie Ball are played outside, games will have to be cancelled on occasion due to inclement weather.  As the season is short and diamond availability is limited, there are no make-up games.

Please read and familiarize yourselves with our weather policy as outlined below, as we cannot respond to individual queries on game days.

1. In the event of rain, assume that games will proceed as scheduled.  Please show up to the diamond for your scheduled game time.  We will not be sending out cancellation notifications.  

2. If thunder and/or lightning occurs when teams are on the field, teams must clear the field immediately for a minimum of 30 minutes.  Depending on timing, this may be result in games ending early.

   • We will not cancel games for thunderstorm warnings only, as conditions are subject to change very rapidly

3. If diamonds are flooded and teams are unable to play on that diamond, we will post a cancellation notice on our social media. 

   • Please note that this requires a physical inspection of the field, which is dependent on availability of our executive committee.  Due to work and family commitments, we may not be able to complete the inspection until closer to game time.  In the rare event that the city closes the fields, we will be able to notify families sooner.

4.   We will continue play in the event of heat warnings.  Please see government resources for extreme heat: City of Mississauga, Government of Canada.  

For any of the above events, if you do not feel comfortable attending, please make the decision that is right for you and your family.  If you choose not to attend, please notify your coach so that they are aware.
